Meet the Rhino Recruiters: Tyler Marino

It’s an especially impactful mission, and it also requires us to be selective and intentional about who we hire. “What’s the interview process like at Rhino?”

If you’re interested in applying to Rhino, we have some tried-and-true advice, but also want to assure you that our recruiting philosophy is pretty different from what you’ve come to expect from other tech start-ups. 

At Rhino, we want to make sure the interviewing experience is a positive one, with no “sneak attacks,” trick questions, and minimal stress. We assess the following when we interview a candidate:

• How thoughtful were your responses to the questions on the application? (That’s right, we do read those!)

• Are you asking thoughtful questions during the interview? Questions that demonstrate your listening ability!

• Are you researching our company? Or are you researching your recruiter? (Check out my LinkedIn profile)

• Why Rhino? What makes us different from the other companies you have interviewed with? 

We care about your experience, but remember that your questions, your thoughts, and ideas are way more important than any line item off your resume. We focus on the conversation which demonstrates your skills, more than how well you can recite your resume!

“And finally, what do you like to do for fun?”

 In my spare time I absolutely love to cook. Learning how to cook new cuisines and using new methods of cooking is so interesting to me. I spent a lot of time BBQing and making homemade pizza last year. Tell me your favorite food and I’ll definitely take it on.
